Happy Thanksgiving! ‘Tis the season of gratitude, and what better way to express gratitude for our Claritas staff than with a festive Thanksgiving poll? This year, we sought to answer a very important question: if our Claritas contributors were on the table, what dish would they be? Let us indulge together in what we believe is a tasteful, creative, and slightly overcooked spread.

The Menu:

  • Turkey

  • Mashed Potatoes

  • Stuffing

  • Cranberry Sauce

  • Gravy

  • Cornbread

  • Pumpkin Pie

The results are in!

The Turkey: Annina Bradley

“A staple at every G-body meeting. Wholesome, quintessential, and packed with nutrients. Turkey also has a high abundance of tryptophan (an essential amino acid) that makes you sleepy. Annina has the same calming, warm effect.”

The Mashed Potatoes: Lydia Huang

“Cooked, mashed, and beaten up: a great image of how she is during midterms and finals. A bit of a mess at times.”

The Stuffing: Hope Thomas

“This girl is literally a blend of ‘I need a nap’… ‘LET’S GO AND DO STUFF(ing)!’…‘can I use your portable charger?’… *walks around like she’s lost*”

The Cranberry Sauce: Christina Cheng

“The sweetest editor that is the cherry on top of every essay. You can't not like cranberry sauce.”

The Gravy: Wyatt Seton Sell

“Everyone has an opinion about gravy. Except, if gravy were Wyatt, he just might have an opinion about you (and essentially everything else in the world). ChatGPT told me that gravy has deep roots in British culinary history, with one of the earliest recorded mentions appearing in a 14th century British recipe book. In other words, gravy is an old soul—just like our beloved Wyatt.”

The Cornbread: David Mcqueston Johnson

“Just a solid guy. Your go-to. Dependable. Everyone's favorite. The only food one can pack on a hiking trip. Also, because cornbread is lactose free.”

The Pumpkin Pie: Annabelle Bann

“It takes skill to bake, and she has that skill.”

Happy Thanksgiving, Clari-Family! Today and every day, we thank the Lord for His goodness and faithfulness.
